Hook Hunt
A hook is a single letter that turns a word into a longer word, at the front or the back. Hooks are where a rack you cannot play becomes two plays, and they are worth learning by name.
Today's base word is below. Find every letter that hooks it, front and back. If you are not sure of a find, mark it as a guess before you try it: the reveal keeps your guesses apart from your sure hooks, because knowing which is which is the skill.
Words come from ENABLE, a public domain list: 172,789 words after review removals, fetched 2026-11-03 from the dolph/dictionary copy of the list, commit c65f04b. Words are checked against ENABLE, not the official NASPA (NWL) or Collins (CSW) tournament lists: some tournament words, QI and ZA for example, are not in ENABLE, and some ENABLE words are not tournament legal, so for rated play, check the official list for your event.
